I have a 88 new yorker with a 2.2l turbo. I just did a head gasket, timing belt, tune up, map sensor, fuel pressure regulator, it still runs rough, with a small back fire out of the exhaust. if I take the vacum line off the map sensor to the box just below it, the car runs prefect, but then I have no power. I have no idea anymore. I have checked everything

If you have a flame out of the exhaust then the plug is firng when the exhaust valve is open i would suggest re-checking the timing both on the distributor (if possible) and the new cam belt , more likley the distributor as when you remove the vacuum pipe from the MAP sensor the vacuum advance/retard is disabled which would also explain the loss of power. hope this helps
