1996 Chrysler Neon stalling engine

hi my service engine lite came on a couple of days ago during a rainy period and the engine was hesatating a little. it not so rainy now and yesterday the light went out..I drive about 25k to work on a freeway about 100k/per hour ..on way home car seemed to be fine when I got off the hwy and made a turn where i had to stop the car lost all power ..I could start it but as soon as it went into gear it would stall..i was almost home and the only way to get it there was to pump the gas peddal alot to keep t going..after I got it in the parking spot ..I let it sit for a few mins and then I would start it ..it would idle normal but after a couple of minutes begin to loss power and buck and stop almost like it going out of gas..( I have half a tank )
