My heat suddenly dropped off to almost nothing. Assuming it to be the thermostat, I replaced it after flushing the radiator and engine block. Refilled it with coolant and water, but still almost no heat. It used to be great with heat. The blower motor is fine. After sitting in the car awhile and watching the needle temp gauge, it would only raise a fraction of what it used to heat up to, the fan would kick on (prematurely) and cool it back down to almost nothing before turning off. I replaced the cooling sensor in the top of the thermostat housing. Not the one to the gauge, but the one to the fan. Chrysler part # 5226374. This new part placed, it made no difference. I did accidentally drop the new part once, but it appeared fine. Anyway, still no heat. Any ideas? Oh, I also replaced the radiator cap just for the heck of it.
