No spark

Four-cylinder, automatic transmission with 65,000 miles.

Pulled up to a stop sign and it shut off. Had to tow it home and now it will turn over fine but no spark. We replaced the ignition coil and the pickup coil in the distributor, but nothing changed. Any ideas where to go next? I doubt this has anything to do with the problem, but the fuel gauge quit working like 2 days before.

More than likely, we have an issue with the ASD relay. When the relay or fuse to the relay fails it causes the ignition system to fail and not operate.

So, we need to start with removing the relay and checking power for the relay and the relay itself.

Once we know if the relay and fuse are ok, we can check the control module and make sure it is grounding the relay like it should. You do this by seeing if there is a ground when the key is turned to the start position. If not, then the control module has failed but I suspect the relay will be the issue, so we need to run through this and tell me what you find.
