1987 Lebaron thumping noise on acceloration

I have a 1987 chrysler le Baron 2.2L turbo charged that makes a noise that almost sounds like a flat tire or a knocking sound. It makes the noise intermitently but when it is making the noise the car is accelorating you can also hear it when I let off the gas and the car is slowing down. I just got both of the CV half shaft assemblies replaced because I had one pull out The noise started when the the driver side cv half shaft pulled out. It doesn't seem to interfer with the steering. When the cv half shaft pulled out it made the noise I am refering to and started to shake and pull to the drivers side which interfered with the steering.
