Noises problem
2002 Chrysler Intrepid 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

HI, I hope you can help me, when my car is moving slowley you can here a high pitch squeaking noise coming from the front of the car, when you go in a straight line or tuen left, if you slighty turn the steering to the right it goes away, also when moving quicker say 40km you can not here it. but sometimes it may disappear for a secound or two. i have checked cv joint rubber covers and they are secure and not broken. any ideas ??
thanks
John

Axle seal in the transmission. It's hard to reach with a wand on a spray can, but if you can douse it with Mopar Rust Penetrant, some will eventually find its way to the seal and the squeaking will stop for between an hour to a day or two. The only permanent cure is to replace the seal.

I've been ignoring the seal in my '88 Grand Caravan for almost a year. Still doesn't leak, but the noise won't go away on its own.
