car will turn on but wont stay on. smelled gas and replaced fuel filter. fuel pump working

You'll rarely solve a running problem by replacing a fuel filter on a Chrysler product unless it's leaking. If you smell fuel and it's due to a leak, the engine won't run without fuel pressure. A common cause is the filter connectors. The dealer has a repair kit for them.
