I have approximately a 2.2 amp drain causing my battery to fail. To make a long story short I can remove the L fuse located under the hood stop the drain. It is labeled Horn/Park. Using wiring diagrams from alldata I found that this 40 amp fuse supplied 2 fuses in the junction box no. 7 and 8. When I remove the 7 and 8 fuse the drain does not go away. That leads me to believe that either there is another drop on fuse L that I have not found or a drain between the main fuse box and junction box fuses 7 & 8. I have also disconnected the horns. The only thing that removes the drain is the removal of fuse L. When fuse L is removed, the instrument panel does not work. No lights or gauges.
I asked the question above earlier today, I have found another piece of the puzzle. I have discovered that fuse 18 no fuse 8 is supplied by fuse L located in main fuse box. Fuse 18 is a 20 Amp fuse suppling the Horn Amp. When I remove fuse 18 the 2.2 amp drain goes away. I also believe that this amplifier is and amplifier for many other components. I looked it up on Autozone.com and they call it a power amplifier. I am sure that my battery drain is caused by a malfunction of this component. However, I need to know the location of this power amplifier. I believe it to be located in front of the main fuse box on the drivers side of the vehicle.
Please help
