1999 Chrysler Concorde stalling out

when your car dies out, i want you to check for fuel pressure and bright blue sparks, also when it dies right out will it start up with starting fluid right away and run for a few seconds and die?

post back your findings.

One thing i failed to mention is that i recently replaced the timing belt. You think that has anything to do with it?

My '99 chrysler concorde won't stay started. It'll start up just fine, but after about 20 minutes or so if i'm driving it jerks forward a couple times and cuts off. yes, make sure the belt is properly tightened and the timing marks are lined up.

Sorry to keep bothering you, but I thought that if there was a problem with the timing belt problems would be obvious soon after the repair rather than develop later. Can you give me a little insight on this.

they could be off by minute marks and if the new belt has finally stretched, it would take a bit to stretch and if so it may be slipping, its a possiblity.

If what you said is the case the symptoms that i'm having is caused by the timing belt being off a bit. What about the fact that it ran so well after the belt was put on?

why did you suggest it if you wont listen? it takes a while for it to stretch.

My apologies. Its just that I've been told so much that I had to learn a way to decipher the info i'm given. I don't mean to badger you like that. But when I saw my partner setting the belt i noticed that it was off a tiny tiny bit and i didn't think it make that much of a difference.

well skip the belt for now. how about the fuel and spark? what are you getting when it dies.

hook up a fuel guage and let it run and when the 20 mins come if the pressure drops then the car drives well have to check the fuel system, if not then check for spark.
