1997 Chrysler Concorde Over Charging The Battery

The battery is being "Over Charged" It`s my understanding that the votage regulator is not contained in the Alternator but instead is in the PCU unite that is located under the Air Clearner Box , right side of engine compartment. The voltage reading across the battery is 16 plus volts.
Check the connectors to the PCU , all clean ,all good .
Question should i replace both PUC & Alternator to correct the over charging problem ???

Your alternator is producing output voltages but its not being controlled by the regulator which is controlled by the computer-have the computer checked out or replace it as you wish.
