I of course own a 1997 chrysler concorde, when i start the vehicle, it revs up to somewhere around 2700 rpm, then goes down to around 1700 rpm, i then put it into drive, and the vehicle is around 1200 rpm, but also i found out that the number 5 and 6 cylinders are missing, but i dont know if it is all the time, or periodically. Another problem i have is when i go to brake, i get down around 10-15 mph and 1000 rpm, and it feels like it kicks into first and sounds/feels like the whole engine stalls for a split second. I was hoping someone could help me out, i have a hunch that it might be the IAC, but not for sure, there is also something wrong with the dwell time on the motor too. So any answers will be considered, thanks.

Hi:
I your problem could do with a TPS, but it could also deal with a vacuum leak. Have you checked for broken / damaged hoses. Also, take a look at the intake manifold. Make sure there are no leaks around its base.
Also, would suggest having the vehicle scanned for trouble codes. Most nationally recognized auto parts stores will doi it for free.

Let me know what you find.

I bought a 97 concorde and the idle was a bit high.

I don't recall exact details but I believe I ran an "UNLIT" propane torch by the intake plenum with the ngine at idle to find the leak. I found that the gasket was broken at two points. An afternoon taking it apart, an $8 gasket, and an afternoon putting it back together fixed it! I found since that this was not an uncommon problem.
