1997 Chrysler Concorde battery or alternator

Sounds like the alternator is doing its job otherwise it will die out-Get the battery load tested could be sulfated and then comeback-make sure its cleaned and properly tightened we go from here.

the battery is not even a month old wit brand new terminals and connectors. they drove the car accross the street turned around and put it in the drive way. they said everything was flickering in and outside the car. could it be the ecm or pcm?

The computer control the field circuit of the alternator thru a driver

we used a volt meter to test the battery it was 12.7 volts. we used a test light on all the fusees and relays and the pcm. im not getting juice any where. the harzards are the only thing that works. i checked all both grounds they are good. is there any other fuses or relays anywhere i can check.

Inspect and test all the fusible links and report back.

where can i find the fusable links at? how many?

You have 2 fusible links coming from the battery a white 22ga. and a brown 18ga. also a black 12ga between the battery and alternator

where at exactly are these fuseanle links. i followed the wire from the battery to the alternator and it goes into the ecm (i think its right beside the battery and has one plug wit pins plugged into a box) that also has no power to. could it be under the car? Or does it go into something?

please frustration is eating at me

Check for power at fuse B 20amp in the power distribution center-do you have it ?

is that where all the relays are? what is the fuse for?

Check the fuse B 20 amp in the power distribution center -this fuse if it doesn't have power it means a blown fusible link-Refer to the wiring diagram I gave you earlier-You have 3 fusible links the location is right there in the diagram

how far from the battery is the distribution center and what does it look like.

there is power going to the link thats about a foot from the battery. i had to take the battery out to get to it, so i ran mini cables from the terminal to the posi wires (where the white says fusible link on the wire) put the test light on the ground wire and it didn't light. however when i used the neg terminal for the test light i got a light. so is there a link for the neg?

i removed the battery. connected the positive terminal to the battery with a wire to the power wires on the car.

i used the grond wires on the car for my test light.

when i checked the link it didn't light up.

so i used the ground on the battery and the light lit up on the tester.

i got the picture of the power distribution center. i tried all those fuses and there is no power any where in there except the hazard

You need to find all the fusible links test it before and after it-You should have power before and after iif no power after the link -the link is open-

how far into the wiring is the fusible link because i dont wnna cut all that wire up. and there is absolutely no power in the distribution center.

To be able to check the grounds in thecar, there needs to be awire from the neg battery cable to the cars neg terminal

but where are the fusible links. im getting power to the starter but not the alternator

do i gotta cut all the loom off the positve wires to find the fusible links. are they under the power distribution center or behind the pcm. im trying to pin point these links. do you have any idea what a fusible link looks like and does an auto part store cary them.

This does not appear to be a fusible link, it is just a splice. A fusible link is basically a fuse made out of wire. Normally it is used on larger gauge wiring where they put a small section (about 2 inches) of thinner wire with thicker insulation. So when there is too much current going through the circuit it will burn up this thin wire and create an open rather then carry that too much current and burn up the component they are attached too.
