1994 Chrysler Concorde lock cylinder?

Am I correct in reading that you have two different problems? Engine dies and the key can be removed while you're driving?

There has been a lot of trouble with ignition switches. The contacts become overheated or the terminals in the connector overheat. The switch is replaced separately from the lock cylinder.

The switch has nothing to do with the key coming out of the cylinder when it's not in the lock position. The dealership parts department has a kit that allows them to build you a new cylinder while you wait, and they can install it into a new switch for you. Actually, installing the cylinder is extremely easy to do, but very hard to describe. If you replace the switch, look closely at the terminals. If any are discolored, you'll also find the plastic connector body is melted. The overheated terminals can be cut out and be replaced by just plugging in two new terminals and splicing in a few inches of wire to replace the old sections that are now hardened and hard to solder to. You can use crimp-style terminals, but solder them too for a better connection.
