Would putting in too much transmission fluid cause
the car to go into Limp Mode? You know where it
sticks you in 2nd gear and won't let you shift to
prevent further damage to the tranny. The only
way to get it out of Limp Mode is to restart the car.

It is possible, but not likely. Most "limp mode" is caused by defective either input or out speed sensors, and sometimes both.
