transmission pan gasket replacing???

Hi: I have a chrysler cirrus year 2000. recently now another problem has come up. Now I have transmission fluid leaking. I think it is the transmission pan gasket.
will this be very expensive to replace? Is this normal for a car this young to have this go? I have to bring it in to the dealer later today and leave it over night and wont the heads up on what to expect please!
If someone could please help soon as possible it would be greatly appreciated

Hopefully the problem is already solved. Gaskets can fail for a number of reasons so there is no specific time table for replacement.
the gasket replacement itself is fairly inexpensive however you will need to drain and replace all the fluid to accomplish this. You might as well have the filter replaced at this point. this service should be under a $100.00.

Hi had all the above done yesterday on the car but it was much more than $100.00 The total was 244.45
the labor was very high and then the taxes but I am glad that it was done. Hope this is it for a while. Had enough bad luck with the car the last 3 months.

Ouch! Just a suggestion, Ask family, friends, and neighbors for recommendations to a local mechanic.
Their labor prices can be much less for this generic type of service.

Most of our garages have very high labor charges. Did I mention that we live in Canada maybe thats why?
No matter where I go have tried some garages and they still have high charges. Guess we have to live with these high labor charges. Gone to Canadian Tire, Sears, the actual deal of the car, and other garages but all seem to be around the same.
