1996 Chrysler Cirrus 20 amp under hood ign fuel starter kee

welcome to the forum. Pull the fuel pump relay, see if the fuse still blows? How long since you changed the fuel filter?

Just got the car in march have never changed the filter, but it is the #5 that keeps blowing, I know it is a temp fix but we have a wire wrapped aroung fuse and car is starting good and running good, no jump box needed, is it wise to get a 30 or 35 amp to replace the 20 since it is stronger?

I would advise against using a wire like that, you may start a fire, somewhere? I wouldn't use a higher rated fuse either. I looked at number 8 fuse circuit, not number five.

Number five fuse is voltage to the load side of asd relay. That relay supplies voltage to the distributor-- injectors-- 02 heater circuits. You might try unplugging the 02 sensors, see if fuse still blows? Any codes?

planned on picking up a higher amp fuse, did you mean to remove the number 2 fuse under the hood, the TCM relay fuse? thanks

Hi, in my opinion, using a higher rated fuse isn't a good idea. I didn't mentioned a number 2 fuse??

sorry I meant the 02 heater circuit, looked for direct short and so far not found one, but it has to be there for the fuses to keep blowing

You unplug the 02 sensors, then try to start, see if fuse still blows. I have heard of the 02 heater circuit causing a problem.

will give it a try, the number 2 sensor is located were? I will look in the manual for a location but must be missing it, I know it has to have many sensors my corsica had many of many sensors. thank you for your advice.

The second 02 sensor should be after the cat, in the exhaust.
