I just purchased a 1990 New Yorker Fifth Avenue that is idling and running rough with poor acceleration. This car had been sitting without being driven for 6 months or more. The battery was dead and I replaced it and the gasoline in the car is also old (probably 6months). The car is not idling or accelerating smoothly. It almost seems to be losing power (compression) during stages and then picks up and this repeats over and over. It sometimes seems to not be getting fuel and loses power then picks up. Please help.
