1988 Chrysler 5th Avenue battery go dead,but alternator is

Hi:

If the battery is going dead, how long does it take? Also, will the car jump start when the battery is dead? Finally, if you had the alt checked and they said it was good, did they check the diodes?

If the car jump starts, the diodes are good, and the battery dies quickly (over night), there has to be a short somewhere or the battery is no good.
