There is a rattle humming noise after transmission oil change, what is the possible fix?

I do hear it. This started after someone serviced the transmission. As far as the noise, I have a few questions.

First, does it change with speed so that the faster you drive, the faster the noise? Or does it speed up when you rev the engine?

Keep in mind, this could be coming from something different. Are you sure that sound is from the transmission? Was there any change when you had the fluid changed the second time?

Let me know. Also, let me know if it is louder at any point on the vehicle.

Hi Joe,

Here is some background: The transmission was worked on after a code appeared P2767 which indicated speed sensor 2 in the valve body. So the valve body was replaced which usually goes bad on these cars., and no codes have appeared since which is great! However, once the valve body was replaced that also meant the transmission oil was replaced with the new approved ATF oil.

So, at about a few hundred miles later I would hear this bad noise. So, once I started hearing this sound, I had ATF changed again but with Lucas trans fix was added. However, the sound still remains.

The sound you hear from the clip attachment is still the same today. The sound does NOT get louder the faster I drive, nor does it get louder when I rev the engine. It actually gets softer and is noticeable in stop and go driving or in idle with the car in drive or reverse. Also, it has a much fainter sound when driving on expressway driving at least over 40 MPH.

Any ideas???

Also, would it be helpful to do a gear oil change? As this car has never had one. Could that be affecting the noise of the transmission, or would that have other consequences?

If this started after they replaced the input speed sensor, it has to be related. You may want to inspect it to make sure nothing appears damaged, loose, or anything out of the ordinary. Also, there is a chance it could be the wrong one and slightly touching something.

As far as the sensor, it is external on the side of the transmission. I attached a pic below showing the location. Number 1 in the pic is the input speed sensor. Number 2 is the output speed sensor. I'm not sure why the valve body was removed.

Has the code ever returned?

I used a code reader, and the input speed sensor is good, and again there are no codes either.

Have you ever heard of a sound like this before?

Hi,

I haven't heard one like that in the past. However, listening to it on a computer may be changing it to an extent. Is the video you sent providing an accurate representation of the noise? Do you feel any vibration in the floor, pedals, steering, or anything that feels like it could be related?
