new member question on 89 dodge truck?

hey everyone. i am going to be buying an 1989 dodge D-150 1/2 ton 318 v8 A727 auto trans 2wd long bed. im getting it for $400. all it needs is a tranny and a drivers side power window motor. the trans still works good all but the reverse. other than that its a good truck im buying it from a class mate in my shop. it runs good and drives ok. looks decent. it has 160xxx miles on it on original engine and on its second trans.(witch is on its way out.) buy for the past 18 months he had the truck it broght him late only 2 times once the fuel filter and the other the fuel pump. he originaly wanted 300 but i told him id give him $400 if hed keep the 100 pioneer cd playerin it. does any one know how good these trucks last and if any one could give any info on these trucks?
