I have a 2003 Chrysler 300M Special with 96,000 miles on the odometer. I had a flat tire and had to take the tire in for repair. My wife drove the car for a day without a spare tire in the trunk. While driving a message and ding came on the EVIC system stating that there was a bad or missing sensor. I just figured that it was due to the tire missing from trunk. The tire was repaired and put back in the trunk, and all five tires were reprogrammed with the tire pressure sensor retraining magnet. The EVIC system said training was complete. The problem occurs when I get into the car and start it, the EVIC system is still telling me my sensor is Bad/Missing. Does this system need to be reset with a scanning tool? Thankyou Ed.

The TPMS has to be cleared by a scantool

Indirect Systems uses the vehicle's antilock braking system's wheel speed sensors to compare the rotational speed of one tire vs. the others. If one tire is low on pressure, it will roll at a different number of revolutions per mile than the other three tires, and alert the vehicle's onboard computer.
