My Chrysler 300M will stall at a stop and has been going through fuel a lot lately. When I turn off the engine and get out, I can smell gasoline. This has only recently started occurring.

It sounds to me as if you have a stuck injector. Is your check engine light on? If so you can save some time by having a technician somewhere use a scan tool to help identify the problem. I always tell people if they want to do a job themselves and need a scan tool to identify DTCs (touble codes) then they should either write down the code or preferably have the tech print out the page.
I really can't tell you a whole lot on this one but the most common problem I've ran into is with the actual injectors. A noid light can be used to test this. The problem could go as far as bad drivers in the ECU. As I said there really isn't a whole lot I can tell you without a fault code. I can tell you to check the injectors with a noid light. Check your plug wires, coil packs, and spark plugs. You can use a multimeter to check for continuity. Remember the higher the number the more resistance there is in the circuit you are testing. You want a very low number for ignition systems. You may also want to check the throttle body. start the car and after it dies smell the throttle body. If it smells strongly of gasoline you may need to have it taken apart, cleaned, and reinstalled. If that just happens to be the problem post another bulletin and I can explain that there.
