Once my car is running it starts making a chirping sound when I have it either parked or idle. I read that it is due to a crankshaft seal that needs to be replaced.

This could be the crank seal but the best way to find out is to remove the belt and find out if it still makes the noise. You will want to get the engine warm so that when you shut it down and remove the belt you don't have to let it run a while on the battery to see if it still makes the noise. Basically you get it making the noise and then remove the belt. If it still makes the noise then it is something to do with the crank pulley because nothing else is spinning at that point.

Below you will find the process to remove the belt. Please let us know what you find. Thanks
