Rear suspension

Apparently this vehicle is equiped with an automatic leveling system. The rear shocks have a thin hose connected to them. It looks that these are air shocks. Is that correct?. I just bought the van and want to put new shocks. How do I know if I need to replace them or not if these are air shocks?. Lastly, if I have to replace them are there any special indications to do it?

are the rear shocks leaking? does the compressor run alot? if not why replace them. if you price new ones at a dealer you' ll hope they last a long time. if the shocks don't have fluid leaking from them and are not making the compressor run alot then they are good. the auto leveling system that gm uses is exspensive to replace parts on.
