The tranny just quit working on the van. No warning, it just stop working in reverse and drive (any gear) after driving it about 30 miles down a grid road in the snow to the city. If i turn the van off i can get it to move for a minute or so but then it stops and slips with nothing - don't know if it will shift from 1st into higher gears. The only thing that may be related is the traction control and the abs were acting strange but seemed to have no impact on the operation of the vehicle other than initially at start up and its been weird for quite some time now. I'm going to tow it home. My gut tells me it's the tranny but I am hoping that it may be something else given it was sudden. Any ideas before i start pulling the tranny, or any test for me to do to make sure it is the tranny? Would the traction control have anything to do with it?? This is the first time we have driven it in the snow and the first time it has been about -10.
