I recently changed the EGR valve on my 2002 chevy venture and need to know how to reset computer so the check engine light will go off.

Try autozone. they can scan your codes, maybe they can erase the codes (clearing/resetting the computer).
If not you'll have to have a shop to do it for you (there is a special scan tool for this procedure).
