2002 Chevy Venture gear in wrong position.

2002 Chevy Venture 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi,

I have a 2002 Chevy venture. I exchanged the intake gasket last week. When I pull the engine out, the gear was in 'P'. When my friend came. He corrected it. We put it to 'N'. After job done, I turned on the engine, the engine speed was very fast, even I didn't give any gas. Looks like transmission gear in wrong position. Do u have any suggestion?
