1997 Chevy Venture sliding door

I'm assuming you have tried it from the inside and outside, and if you have a key for that door have you tried unlocking the door with that or the inside lock in case the power lock is bad. I dont know if it matters but is it a power sliding door sometimes the motor goes bad on those. If no one else has a better idea I would start by taking the door panel off the door, maybe you could see if the door handle is broke. good luck

Did you tried to reset (procedure in owner manual)? Close sliding door and you have to disable the switch for sliding door located at over head console, than remove fuse for radio from under the hood fuse panel for 30 seconds (I believe it 10 AMP Pink - # 29), than you re-insert the fuse and wait 5 seconds than enable the switch over the head console and try to open with either switch (overhead or next to sliding door).
I have same problem many times but I reset it per instruction and it works.
