My van was running fine. I made a brief stop and when I restarted the engine the front AC wouldn't work and the fan wouldn't blow. The power windows didn't work. 1st & 2nd shifted fine but the engine just revved and raced when it tried to change to drive. I couldn't get it to shift to drive or overdrive manually either. (it has automatic transmission). This is when i realized the speedometer and odometer weren't working. I checked the battery and ground wires to the frame, and changed the transmission fluid and filter. Everything seemed fine. The fuse box under the driver's dash was fine. The "Check engine light" came on and off intermittantly. I think it's an electrical or computer problem. I've found out the transmission shifting does have an electrical component. For all this to go out at once I think it's an electrical problem. But I don't know where to look to find something that could have an effect on all these things. I bought a haynes manual but it didn't help. Can anyone help me? I don't want to just take it to some shop and have people start replacing parts and charge me hundreds of dollars and the problem not get fixed. I don't mind paying for an answer that solves the problem, but I can't afford to just replace parts hoping something will work.
