oil pressure gauge

I have a 2003 Silverado ext 4x4, 5.3l with 43,000 miles. All of s sudden I noticed my oil pressure gauge was stuck at 80. Temp was fine no check engine lights, and truck is still running fine.If i just click the ingnition to on without starting the truck it goes right up to 80. I figured this has got to be something electrical, like maybe a sending unit. but not sure exactly where that is. Any ideas ? Thanks Bill

The oil pressure sensor is on top rear of engine.
