I am getting a slight knocking sound and motion in my steering column when driving. The noise and motion become worse when I make turns. Is this most likely from bad ball joints or something else? It is a 2005 Silverado 2wd, 45k miles, automatic, V6.

May need to have the intermediate steering column shaft greased. This is a common problem on Chevy's around 2004-2006. If it's not under warranty, should cost around $80-90.
