Just replaced the head gasket, and timing chain w/gears. Before the gasket & chain replacment I was getting fire from the ignition wires, now I'm not. Checked all wiring connections, took off hte module and had it tested, looked up a wiring schematic to test the posative and negative leeds. Checked the conection to the crank sensor. I'm at a total loss on what the problem could be. Somebody please help.

have you checked the obvious like , a dead battery , loose connections or other connections you pulled off to do the job that didnt go back , check again i think you may have missed a couple of wires, i have been doing this stuff a long time and when i hurry i always miss one

A 98 Cav. has 2 crank sensors one in the side of the block between tranny & motor, the other is behind the crank pulley I would check to see if you damaged it during removal or instalation of crank pulley.
