I have a 1990 Chevy Silverado stepside model. When I drive over any bumps in the highway travelling 65+, the truck shakes uncontrollably. I must slow down considerably until the shaking stops and then accelerate to a safe speed. I have changed the shocks on the vehicle with no relief. The truck still behaves in the same manner. Has anyone experienced this before? Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Hi, I have an 86 Silverado and I have had something similar to that. Mine is a long bed so I have a carrier bearing on the drive shaft to help hold it up. The bearing went and it would vibrate like crazy...eventually it broke so it was easy to take off and get a new one pressed on it. It cost me about $50. Good luck!

i have a 1989 chvey stepside.Either it is the universal joints.Or with me it was a broken front wheel hub.It had split all the way around due to rust.Replaced the hub and problem was solved.I thought i was going over those stutter bumbs on the highway.
