1999 Chevy Truck security light remains on

1999 Chevy Truck Two Wheel Drive Automatic 65067 miles

My 1999 Silverado has security light that continues to flash after starting, also beeps approx every 15 seconds. After started can unplug module but have to re-plug in order to re-start. Tried to reset using code but no luck

Hi:
Either the sensor in the key or the column is weak. If you have an extra key, try it. If it doesn't work, you will most likely need to take it to a dealer to have it checked. They will have the needed test equipment to check it.
