1998 Chevy Truck auto v push button transmission

I need to replace my transmission and my truck has a transmission that goes to 4 wheel drive automatically, can I use a transmission that has a push button to start 4 wh drive in it? Would the truck run?

I would imagine the trans would be ok, as long as you use the transfer case from the original trans.The trans doesnt have anything to do with auto-4wd, it is all done in the transfer case. Just to be sure, compare the main plug that goes into both trannies to be sure the pin location and count is the same
