On my 1997 Chevy K1500 I have replaced the alternator(100 amp, 120 won't fit without modifications), battery, and starter. I have also placed a new ground strap from the T-Stat post to the frame rail. The problem is that when my truck is running I am receiveing 14 volts on my gauge, when I put a load on it rather it be the lights or blower or just hammering the gas the needle drops just below 14 volts. Now I have tested the system on the battery and it tests at 13.6 volts but when I move the negative cable to the body mount and test it the system it only shows 8 volts. The battery it self off and on the vehicle tests good. The truck starts up on the first crank, and I can drive the truck with no obvious problems other than I can show that the system is drawing to much some where. I need some help or directions before I start sinking pointless money into the truck.
