Hello, I have a 1996 Astrovan with 93000 miles. While driving it started to slip all of a sudden. I realized when you turn the engine off(hot or cold) and then restart, the transmission would pull like nothing was wrong. But this would only last for maybe a quarter mile, then slip again. This would work over and over again. I was told that it would need a new trasmission but i seem to think it is some type of sensor or solenoid. I would think that if it were clutches or a torque convertor it would constantly slip without pulling at all. I'm not sure about the model of transmission but it has a 4.3L vortec v6 engine. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Before I would look at changing any parts I would get some spray white lithium grease and get the trunk open and lubricate the lock with the lithium grease first.
