1995 Chevy Truck Maintaining Performance

for heavens sake no. no engine flush. it can harm engine bearings while it is supposed to be cleaning them. if storing for a long time i would suggest adding stabil fuel stabilizer and change oil before storing so the acid in the old oil wont be sitting on the bearings. disconnect battery and thats it. i have just about the same truck and have all the same add ons you have. if your feeling a little froggy you may want to put on a set of headers for your next project, it so far has made the most improvement on performance. i miss my truck, its been in the body shop for 2 weeks getting repainted and was supposed to be done tonight. seeing your truck has made me a little sad.

I will take that suggestion and will probably be putting headers on within the year. Do you have any that you recommend? Also, I am thinking about just tying them into the duals that I already have. Do I need to worry about any sensor problems? I am also in thinking about putting 4.10 gears in to help with the larger tires that I have. Do you recommend doing this, what should it roughly cost, and also have any recommendations? I was also wondering about Synthetic Oil like AMSOIL what is your opinion. Lastly as far as vehical storage goes I have heard that you should take out the spark plugs and put a little oil in each cylinder then reistall the plugs. Is that a good idea or not nessacery? i think dynaflow has headers that bolt directly up to the exhaust pipes you already have and no other mods are needed. as for the 4.10, probably the vehicle has 3.73 already and to jump to 4.10 wont really give you any substancial performance and you would also have to change the front diff gears too. my opinion its not worth it. as for putting oil in the cylinders, thats going to the extreme but you could in that case just spray a marine fogging oil into intake when shutting down, this will do the same thing. i got the word that today the truck got painted and looks awesome, but i wont get it back til wednesday due to reinstalling moldings and having it detailed. i will post some pictures when i get it back.

I had another question of course, I tryed calculating my rear end ratio by jacking up one side in the rear and rotating the tire 10 times and counting the number of axel rotaions. The transfer case was in nuetral and I only got 17 to 10 so 1.7 to 1, which cannot be right. Do you need to do something different for rear ends that are not locked to calculate the ratio or is there another way of getting it. It is a GM 10 bolt 8.5". Also how would I find out what transmission I have? I think it is a GM - 4L60E. Would you recommend Synthetic Oil in the transmission, transfer case, and front rear diff. easiest way to tell gear ratio and if its posi is to call the dealer with the vin # and they will tell you. synthetic oil in my opinion is over rated.
