1988 Chevy Truck Heater / thermostat

Hello,

I have an 88 Chevy k1500 silverado. When I bought the truck the heater didn't work so I replaced the heater motor. The truck now blows air but it's cold.

I also noticed that's there's no reading on the thermostat (it stays at 100 degress, maybe goes up a smidge).

could the thermostat not be letting any air in? could the heater core be gone?

Hi:
If the temp gauge doesn't move, either the sending unit is bad, or the thermostat is stuck open. If the thermostat is the problem, the engine isn't getting hot enough to produce heat. The first thing I would do is replace the thermostat. If the gauge still doesn't work, the temp sending unit may be bad.
