1983 Chevy Truck Possible short in left rear turnsignal/bre

With turn signal on, there would be a pulse on yellow wire. Maybe I didn't understand your question? There shouldn't be any voltage on the brown wire unless the headlamp switch is turned on. With a faulty ground, the turn signal might try to use the brown wire for ground?

I checked the brown wire to ground to make sure there was no fault in the socket with parking lights on.

I checked the yellow wire both with brake pedal and turn signal on. I would get a reading of 1.5 volts before it would go to zero but no steady reading. I checked the brake light because i knew it would be a steady voltage with no flash because it runs on the same yellow line.

Since the yellow line is tied to both the break switch and the turn signal/flasher relay there is a short after leaving the flasher. My front flasher works, but read doesn't.

I was asking if there would be a possible place to look for short without having to tear out whole line or should i just run a new line for the yellow wire after the flasher relay.

I don't hunt the short on a single circuit, I cut the wire on both ends and splice in a new wire.
