Transmission problem
1980 Chevy Truck V8 Two Wheel Drive Manual

Went to move it and it won't come out of first. Started it up, drove it around jerking on it every which way, and nothin'. Won't budge. Now what? It's a dual-wheel 1-ton with a granny gear. Stuck in Granny. Drove down Main street at 5 mph to get back!

Will it shift when engine is off? Clutch feel like has pressure ?

Clutch is fine, shifter is the same with engine on or off. There is slight left-right play, which may be normal. I just can't pull it down to N or 2nd. Like I said, I drove it around, up & down a hill, jerking on & off the gas, but nothing will break it loose. It's a top loaded tranny I believe. Four on the floor. It's been working perfectly fine, till today. I'll be gone till monday now, but I'll check your thoughts when I return, and thanks!
