I own 1978 chevy k5 blazer with a smallblock 400,4x4 3 speed auto(manual hubs). 300,000+ Kms.
My problem involves the 2nd and 3rd gear with [b:9ae701a0fd]4 barrels open only[/b:9ae701a0fd], no problem with 2 barrels. When I hit 2nd gear the engine will sputter and my rate of acceleration will fall until I let off the gas for a second, then the motor runs fine until i hit 3rd gear, same problem in 3rd gear as well.
Problem is present in 4 wheel lock, free-wheeling, and with the hubs on free.
Rebuilt Carb and put on headers in January.
Took out engine to polish, replace seals and to replace gaskets in June to stop the blue smoke when i started up.
My Hanes manual was not much help this time and I was hoping for some help in narrowing my list of things that could be wrong.
