My car has been dying over night , I have changed the alternator and the battery it was doing good for about a day or two then the problem started again. The service engine light does not come on. Any Ideas what it could be???????? When I got the new battery checked it before I put it one and it was at 99% when they checked It again after it was put on it when down to 68% and said it needed charge.

Electrical pressure decreasing sounds like you need to have the alternator load tested whether its outputting the correct voltages-start here

my son had a battery replaced last week in his trailblazer and a guy told him his alternator was putting out too many amps. He drove 450 miles on the new battery with the ac, gps and dvd player going without any problems. Today, before going on another trip, he had the alternator checked again and this guy told him it wasn't putting out enough amps. How many amps should he be putting out.

The alternator using a Digital Volt Meter should be putting out between 13.5 and 14.5 .

If any doubts go by your local AutoZone and have them check it for you.

This is a straight forward repair. First, disconnect the battery. Rmove the serp belt and wiring from the alternator. After that, remove the mounting bolts that hold the alt to the mounting brackets and the alt will come off. Reverse the order to replace it.

I've been asked to help out, check battery for condition including load test. most places do for free. then replace belt and tensioner as 60k is recommended the tensioner loses tension, belt slips and causes everything to draw down. make sure the battery terminals are clean as well. finally clean throttle plate on both sides and iac hole with choke cleaner. the sensor you are talking about kinda behind the alternator is the coolant temp sensor.

The battery is new. I replaced it less than a month ago. How do I clean the throttle plate and iac hole?

use choke cleaner and clean both sides of plat e an iac hole there is a article on our repair site here. YOu don't need to remove it to clean it like the article shows.
