I have only had my 2006 TrailBlazer 4.2L 4x4 w 95,000 miles for 3000 miles or so and have nothing but problems. I started with a check engine light and poor idle and stalling at idle. I had the codes ran and it came back as 0014, 0017, and 0300.
I got and installed new AC Delco Iradium plugs, a new crankshaft position sensor, and a new camshaft position sensor. I also cleaned the thottle body. I also left the battery unhooked for 4 or 5 hours.
This was about 1500 miles ago and it at first did not fix the problems, but after a few starts and miles, the light went out and all problems were gone. It idled fine, never stalled, had no lights on.
Then Friday the engine light returned and the truck will not idle properly. It surges at idle and will occasionally stall out. It is worse when the truck is cold. It does not make a difference if the HVAC is off or on. The engine will miss so bad the truck will shake at idle and has a loss in power. The engine light will flash and then the truck will run a bit better, but the light never goes away, it just stays on and the horrible idle is still there at the next light.
