My check engine light came on almost 1 year ago. I have been working on the issue ever since. I had the code read and it listed the P0410 secondary air pump.
I checked the system out and found water in the pump. I turned the truck on with the hoses disconnected and the water pumped out. The light remained on so I changed the check valve first as it was the least expensive option. The light went out for several months and then returned.
I tried to pinpoint the problem. The pump runs for @20 seconds on a cold start (assume pump is good). I disconnected the hose from the check valve and I can blow through the hose (no clog). I can feel air pumping through the valve for @20 seconds and then stops (I assume the check valve is working by closing after @20 seconds). I replaced the relay without any luck.
I have a code reader and have cleared the codes and it remains off for 2-3 weeks and will come back on. Then it might only stay off for 1 day.
I'm not sure what to do. I've called the dealership and they aren't sure what the problem might be after doing what I mentioned above. Please help!!!
