Tyre pressure for oversized tyres

1999 Tahoe LT. 5.7 SFI. 4x4. 2door with a three inch body lift. 105,000miles.
I am running 305 x 16 Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tyres. If I inflate the larger tyres to the manufactures recommended 35psi, at 70mph the rear starts to weave from side to side, but when I increase the pressure to 40 psi all seams OK.
I imagine that it is the tyre walls flexing that causes this.
Do larger tyres require an increase in preasure and is it OK for me to run at 40psi?

pressure should be the same u are just putting more air in it

The stability concern could be caused from changing the center of gravity of the vehicle with the lift kit.As for the tire pressure,you should be fine with 35 psi.I would make sure the body mounts are properly torqued and the shocks are good.

I see where you are coming from with the change of centre of gravity, this could have some bearing on the problem. Mounts are all torqued OK. The lift was done in the USA prior to me exporting the Tahoe to the UK.
The problem is corrected with the increase of tyre preasure from 35psi to 40psi.
Thank you for taking the time to help me as there are not too many places where I can get information here in the UK.
