If the remote start will not function then more then likely you have a door switch or hood switch that has failed and so the PCM thinks it is still open and it will not allow the remote start to function. So let's start with checking for codes using this guide:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

However, if this all checks out, does the vehicle start properly using the key in the ignition switch?

We may have an issue with the starter so here is a couple guides on this:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-a-starter-and-solenoid-works

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-a-starter-motor

I attached the process below on how to replace the starter if this proves out to be the issue. Thanks

Trying to remove the starter on 2003 tahoe. It will not pull out due to what looks like a small bracket bolted to the oil pan/bell housing. Can't ge tto the two side bolts on the bracket to remove. What is the proper way around this?
