2003 Chevy Tahoe Evap system and catalytic system inspectio

Was the light reset when the work was done? If not, have that done. Most nationally recognized parts stores will do it for free. After reset, see if it comes back on with the same or different code.

If the engine is still running lean, check for vacuum leaks.

Yes the light was reset, I reset it with an OBD ii scanner. I'm trying to pass inspection now and for some reason its not reading the evap and catalytic systems so they won't pass me at inspection.

IT won't read it? That is odd. How many miles have you put on it since it was reset?

I've easily put 300+ miles on it since reseting the codes.

Don't want to take it to the dealer and have them look at it because all they will probably do is take it in the back, see that its not reading the codes, then charge me a load of money to tell me just that.

All the other systems are ready EXCEPT those two systems.

Have you tried having it scanned at a nationally recognized parts store? They will do it for free. Also, if it is an evap code, you may have a leak. You may want to have the system fogged to see if that is the cause.

If your Inspection Printout reads On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) Test Results: OBD Readiness monitor Results = Fail and On- Board Diagnostic (OBD) Monitor Results: Evaporative System monitor = Not Ready and O2 Sensor Monitor = Not Ready then your computer just needs more input/time. One of the cylinders in the EVAP System only operates at a certain fuel level and this must be done to get your system ready. It can't remember if it was less than 1/2 or a 1/4 of a tank. Keep us updated.
