2002 Chevy Tahoe Park lamp fuse

The manual labels the fuse as "Park Lamp". It controls the taillights, instrument cluster lights, etc. It keeps blowing the fuse. During daytime hours I can replace the fuse and be fine until I start the car when it is dark out. It did this once a few years ago and I replaced the fuse and it has been fine until recently. This morning, I started the vehichle and it blew the fuse again and I think I saw a spark fall from underneath the dash. I thought I was getting moisture somewhere but now I'm not sure as it has been dry the last several days. Help.

sounds like you have a short in the wiring. have you ever had a remote start or car alarm installed on the vehicle. or does it have one of these

No remote starter and the alarm is what came from the factory.

It does seem to happen more often when starting the car with less than ample outside lighting (so that the vehicles lights come on automatically). For example, the other day I put a new fuse in while at work (parked outside) started the vehicle and drove home. When I pulled into the garge all lights came on. Started the truck the next morning and no tail lights/cluster lights.

i would start by looking under the dash and see if there is any wires that have rubbed through or any burned wires. another thing you can do is put a new fuse in it and while the vehicle is running and the lights are on, start to wiggle the wires under the dash and see if it blowes the fuse. then you know where to start looking
