2002 Chevy Tahoe Fuel Filter

I want to know if you have to prime the fuel filter when you put a new one in. Is this true, or do I have to go to a repair shop for them to replace and/or "prime" the filter

After the filter is replaced, turn the key to the on position and the pump will run a few seconds. Turn the key back off for a few seconds and then back to the on position. That should be fine to start at that point.
